Knee Pain

A patient presents to his primary care doctors office with knee pain for 4 days. He has been having difficulty bending his knee, putting weight on his leg, and walking. He denies trauma. On exam his knee is swollen and erythematous. You are able to elicit pain with passive range of motion. You suspect that the patient may be having a gout flare and perform an arthrocentesis.
