CASE SCENARIO

A patient comes into your trauma bay after a blunt trauma from being assaulted with a baseball bat to the chest. He is found to be pulseless on exam, compressions are started and you decide to perform a thoracotomy. You make an incision and have entered the thoracic cavity.
